The effectiveness of the basic course in occupational psychology is being measured using FølHosp at Nykøbing Falster Hospital

The National Research Centre for the Working Environment (NFA) has had its FølHosp research project approved, in which it will investigate the impact of the comprehensive working environment project KOBLING, currently being carried out by Nykøbing Falster in collaboration with the Institute of Occupational Psychology. As part of this, staff at all levels of the organisation are being trained in stress psychology – both through face-to-face and online training, the ‘Textbook on Stress Psychology’ and, in particular, the ‘Basic Course in Stress Psychology’, which the hospital’s own occupational health and safety organisation is being equipped to teach to the rest of the staff. Through FølHosp, the NFA has secured funding to:

  • to investigate the impact of organisational measures on sickness absence and staff turnover
  • estimate the direct costs of the intervention and the associated healthcare costs for staff and patients,
  • to examine the mechanisms underlying the implementation and impact of the initiative and
  • to develop a guide on how organisations can manage emotional demands in the workplace.

We are absolutely thrilled and look forward to seeing what the NFA’s research brings.
