“WHEN EMPLOYEES BECOME THE DRIVING FORCE”

Lars Paludan-Müller, Head of Corporate Health at Velliv

What was your main takeaway from the conference?

What I particularly took away from the conference were the many good examples of how wellbeing, psychological safety and relational skills can be embedded as a natural part of the culture. When employees themselves become the driving force behind learning and implementation, development comes from within rather than from the top down. It sounds simple, but those of us who have worked with workplace health for many years know just how difficult it is to create lasting change that takes root and spreads throughout an organisation.

What stood out to you in terms of follow-up?

I was also struck by the value of regular pulse checks, which provide insight into how things are progressing along the way. This creates opportunities to learn, adjust and stay on course.

How important is the connection to the core task?

It also became very clear how effective it is when strong working relationships, wellbeing and psychological safety are integrated into the core task and support the organisation’s goals, rather than being something that is addressed separately. In this way, courses do not become just another initiative on the sidelines. They become an integral part of everyday work, the core task, professional practice and the culture the organisation wants to create. That is where they make the greatest difference.
