A quick overview and a great, practical gift

Dear reader,

As you’ve probably noticed by now, the newsletter has a new layout. The idea behind the new layout is to make it easier for you to get a quick overview of the content, so you can find the article, news item or podcast that’s relevant to you.

Another initiative is Prevention Champion of the Month, which is a gift from us to you in the form of a technique from our extensive toolbox of stress psychology techniques.

September’s ‘Preventer of the Month’ is the universal tool known as the ”10% rule”, a proactive and collective approach designed to ensure that no employee – whether a staff member or a manager – is left to tackle one of the most difficult tasks on their own. This increases the risk of mental strain and the resulting absenteeism due to illness. More on the ”10% rule” further down in this newsletter.

Enjoy the read!
Best regards from Mette, Rikke and the rest of the team at the Department of Occupational Psychology.

Are relatives a blessing or a burden?

Good cooperation between professionals and relatives enhances the well-being of both service users and staff, but it can also be put to the test. BFA invited the institute’s founder, Rikke Høgsted, to a conversation with Karen Sigrid Jacobsen on the subject. The conversation is number 2 on the list and is entitled “At the mercy of emotions”.
